TANG SISTERS | PORTRAITS

By far my favourite shoot to date. The Tang sisters (there are six of them) are some of the most beautiful girls in Redding and also the loveliest! It is always refreshing grabbing quick chats with them because they are so genuine and funny. Directed again by the incredible Heather Armstrong, this shoot finished off a photography workshop at Bethel's recent School of Creativity. I got to jump in after taking photos of the different workshops happening around the campus.

Confession - I had, for a moment, thought that we were just taking photos of the flower wreaths so I definitely squealed a little when the girls showed up in their dresses. It is always fun working under Heather's genius but this one tops them all (so far)! Thank you, Hadley, Audrey, Beckah and Grace for making our job so so easy.

MEGAN AND JEREMY SCHIMMEL | WEDDING

Well! After a busy three weeks, I'm finally getting round to posting these! Like I've mentioned already, it was a huge honour to have been behind my camera at Megan and Jeremy's wedding. Capturing love and family is such a happy thing! And oh my goodness, a groom tearing up as his bride walks down the aisle to him? Few things like it. 

I felt incredibly privileged to hear their family members share their favourite things about each of them (and some hilarious childhood stories involving worm bracelets and superheroes) and all the things that make both Megan and Jeremy the amazing people they are. They are so loved! 

I have wanted to shoot at the TBS Ranch since seeing photos of my friend's wedding there a few years back so this was a big tick off my dream list, and I'm so grateful. Now to add a few exotic locations on there - Greece, maybe?

TANG SISTERS | PORTRAITS (SNEAK PEEK)

This spring break week I've had the honour of being at Bethel's School of Creativity as a volunteer photographer. I have so loved sitting and hearing from some of my heroes and in the midst of all the running around, I still have moments where I sit totally blown away by the fact that this is all happening. Rewind one year and I was just in Auckland dreaming of being here in Redding one day. It never ever crossed my mind that I'd be staring at the back of my camera one day with images of some of the greats I had spent hours watching on iBethel TV. 

Yesterday afternoon I jumped in on a photo shoot the incredible Heather Armstrong had set up for her photography class. Oh my goodness. Enchanted forest magic. Hadley, Audrey, Beckah and Grace are the best models. Ever. I cannot begin to tell you how easy they make it!

JENNA AND JOEY BROOKS | LOVE (PART II)

WHISKEYTOWN

This afternoon I got to zip up to the gorgeous Whiskeytown Lake with a selection of my crazy friends. We chilled, listened to my Parent Trap playlist, squealed in the mini dust storms that happened every 10 minutes, chased geese away from tortilla chips and tossed a frisbee around. All in all, a very relaxing couple of hours. Cheers to you, spring break.

So this is most definitely inspiring me this quiet Easter Saturday morning as I catch up on my editing marathon and brainstorm new photo and video projects.

MEGAN AND JEREMY SCHIMMEL | WEDDING

Yesterday I had the honour of shooting at TBS Ranch where Megan and Jeremy were married. Megan was gracious enough to let me come along and shoot alongside my friend who was doing their video. I have a whole new level of respect for wedding photographers - a full day of shooting is a marathon (not to mention the editing process!) Also, a life lesson for all you photographers - never do a 30 min YouTube HITT workout the day of a wedding. That bikini body can wait another day. These girl's quads are in pain.

JENNA AND JOEY BROOKS | LOVE (PART I)

Let it be heard that Jenna and Joey are one of the most photogenic couples ever. These two graciously worked it for the 30 excited cameras frantically snapping away and oh man, was it fun! This is part one of four of these two. So don't worry, loads more Jenna and Joey beauty for your eyes.

I've gotta say it makes me so happy to capture love after a couple are married and have moved past the honeymoon into the reality of everyday life where laundry piles up, dishwashers break, feet smell and the toothpaste is squeezed in the middle. Yet in all this and so much more, the powerful choice is made to love each other. Bliss. KYLO, people, KYLO. (Keep Your Love On).
